Episode 144: Learn about why women should invest in property, how men and women invest differently, and the challenges females face with becoming high-level investors with Monick Halm of Real Estate Investor Goddesses.
Monick Halm is a successful property investor with over 1300 units over six states. After years of not seeing women represented in the property investment world, she set a lofty goal of helping one million women crush their goals with property investing.
For men, having more money can be a competition. Generally speaking, women start to consider how their investment also serves others and how they can add value to the community.
Of course, it’s not always this way, but as women tend to fall into the role of caregiver and cause a positive ripple effect by their efforts.
Another difference between men and women is that male investors are often bigger risk-takers. In many ways, this can be beneficial. Being a risk-taker can yield big results and help overcome fear to make a decision. However, the hesitation that many women face can also be a blessing and help make better decisions.
One of the biggest challenges female property investors face is a lack of representation. Seeing mostly men become successful with this approach to wealth and growth can cause thoughts that they won’t be able to do the same.
Many would-be female property investors also struggle with fear of being swindled or losing their way. They don’t know how to start or how to start safely, and that hesitation turns into inaction.
You don’t have to dive into property investing with two feet. Many people choose to join a syndication that allows you to be a passive investor. The syndicator deals with the legwork, you put in money, and wait for it to come back. This is a great first step to getting more familiar with property investment and start building income.
